Luvon Roberson

Luvon-Roberson Wine-Tour 411-website-bio-page 500x678Luvon Roberson is happiest when she's reading a book or talking about one. She gets to do both as What's The 411 Book Editor. The daughter of a single mom who worked the night shift, she and her sister were "latch-key" kids. She spent hours reading on her bed and writing stories and poems. And, so began her lifelong love of books and storytelling. What's The 411 marks Luvon's return to TV, after a much earlier stint at WTNH-TV as a field producer/researcher, which she nabbed by beating out 50 others for the job.

She then teamed up with now-writer Ifa Iyaun (whose sister is Ntozake Shange) to develop The Book Team Folklore Project for the New Haven Board of Education. From there, she headed to the University of London, for her first Master's degree, returning to the US two years later to begin Ph.D. studies in the anthropology department at Columbia University. Zora Neale Hurston, her favorite novelist-folklorist-anthropologist, studied in the same department. Leaving Columbia with her second Master's, she moved to a focus on books and writing: She was an Associate Editor at NASW Publications, taught English literature to gifted students of color in the acclaimed Prep for Prep program, and taught Journal Writing to adult students at The College of New Rochelle. Then she began a long career in public relations, ranging from NYC's iconic Howard J. Rubenstein agency to global giant Omnicom, where she was a Senior Vice President at Fleishman-Hillard.

Among her recent adventures with books and writing, Luvon lists: Columnist, features writer, copy editor at Harlem News; book reviewer at ThoughtGallery.org; facilitator of book talks, literary-Biblical classes, and coordinator of large-scale book events for hundreds at The Riverside Church. Luvon is especially grateful to Gloria Steinem and NYC First Lady Chirlane McCray for using their skills as writers and their national and global visibility to showcase a new book, Breaking Through: 2014 Anthology from the Next Generation of Woman Writers. Luvon is the copy editor of Breaking Through and volunteers with Girls Write Now.

She calls herself "bookish," and reads at least one book each week. She's currently reading three books – Harlem Nocturne, by Farah Jasmine Griffin; My Secret History, by Paul Theroux; and – for the fourth time -- Moses, Man of the Mountain, by Zora Neale Hurston. Luvon belongs to three book clubs. And, she will accept all invitations to visit your book club! She wants to know what you're reading...What's The 411 on your bookshelf, Nook, or Kindle?

Jacinda Motton

Jacinda-Motton Black-OutfitJacinda Motton joined the team at What's The 411TV as a co-host and correspondent for its award-winning  entertainment and lifestyle news and information television show, What's The 411.

For as long as she can remember, Jacinda always knew that she wanted to touch people by expressing her true authentic self. She began to come out of her shell more while attending college at Sam Houston State University. She majored in Radio/Television Broadcasting through the Dan Rather School of Communications. While there, she was the President of 3MG (Minority Multi-Media Group). Under Jacinda's leadership, 3MG created a platform for its members to produce entertainment, music, and fashion projects. Coincidentally enough, she produced and hosted a show on campus called "What's the 411" where she selected student leaders to address topics that affected them.

In April 2010, Jacinda decided to strike out on her own and move to the Big Apple to find her niche in fashion and entertainment. Since she really didn't know anyone in New York City, Jacinda decided to use her blog, Ms. Fashionista J as a form of expression but also as a means to create opportunities for herself. Through her blog, Jacinda covered some of the hottest celebrity-driven events in New York City. Aside from rubbing elbows with the hottest celebs, Jacinda has appeared on television shows such as: E! Style News; The Nate Berkus Show; TLC's Homemade Millionaire; and PIX 11 News. Furthermore, she has hosted at major events such as the Aretha Franklin Concert during the Brooklyn Seaside Concert Series and Lucky Magazine's FABB Conference.

Whenever Jacinda is not in front of the camera, she enjoys volunteering, spending time with her family and friends in Houston when she gets a chance and embarking on new challenges such as Real Estate—just to name a few.

Kizzy has always had an interest in travel, the African Diaspora, and communications. She has studied acting, singing, and all types of dance. Kizzy's favorite pastimes include reading, writing, public speaking, and continual self-improvement! So she's happy to be working at What's The 411, where she can combine her myriad interests all in one show. It's all the more exciting since Kizzy began her career in communications with the television show, What's The 411, directly after graduating from Hunter College. Kizzy sees this as a way to further the brand and bring the show's unique take on entertainment and lifestyle to a whole new audience. In her original role at What's The 411, she wrote stories for the show's weekly newsletter and the website. Later she conducted on-camera interviews with celebrities such as Queen Latifah and John Leguizamo, in addition to many others.

The travel bug eventually hit Kizzy and brought her to the Dominican Republic where she studied Spanish and had the unique opportunity to work at the radio station, Supra FM, as a guest host commenting on current events in Spanish. As great an experience as that was, Kizzy couldn't stay away from her beloved NYC too long and so she returned to work on show development for Backdrop at the Emmy award-winning TV station NYC-TV.

Kizzy's love of Latin culture and her own West Indian culture, led her to work as a travel and cultural events correspondent at the internet show, En La Escena. She then worked at MTV in product development for all Viacom web brands. Kizzy also hosts and produces her own show, Make It Happen Now!, which airs on BCAT. Kizzy is looking forward to expanding not only her repertoire but her perspective and that of What's The 411's viewers, by bringing the best of hot NYC events that expand your mind, work your body and stir your soul!
